Adaptive technologies are technologies that help disabled students effectively use computing tools. By using adaptive technology, these students are able to learn independently and participate more in class. Also, dyslexic students are able to use a spell checker or speech recognition software to assist them while writing. When I was volunteering at a kindergarten summer camp, I saw three students with disabilities using adaptive technologies. Each of these students had their own iPad and a pair of headphones to aid them in classroom activities. The students were also guided by a teacher helper at most times. One challenge I perceive using adaptive technologies in the classroom is the destruction or damage to items. Especially with younger kids, they often throw the iPads. I had experience with this during the summer camp as one of the girls would throw the iPad around rather than answering questions. Therefore, a student that might damage the iPad or other technological item may requi...

So far, my experience with Twitter has been great. The accounts that I follow provide great education updates as well as helpful classroom tips. I especially like the account @educationnation as it posts cool videos and facts on a daily basis. The benefits of Twitter include communication with classmates, access to worldwide information about education, and the ability to see retweets so you can view accounts you otherwise wouldn't have. One issue I experienced is that I was not following enough people so I didn't have a lot of updates. Therefore, I followed more users which solved my problem. Link:  http://alyeme2040.weebly.com/ The Web Page Design assignment was fun. I thought it was helpful to create this because we will definitely have to do this in the future as a teacher. Also, I saw on actual teacher websites that they had to do this so it is a relevant skill. I enjoyed adding fun pictures and fonts too. However, the website was somewhat hard to use. I was con...

https://classroom.google.com/u/0/c/NjY3NTMxMjkzNFpa I choose the Design option and created my own Google Classroom. My classroom was that of a kindergarten class and I made four different topics which contained homework assignments, fun activities, and extra worksheets. Personally, I think I did a good job even though the website was somewhat complicated!

I visited the school website of Florida State University Schools (FSUS) which I am currently doing field experience at. After looking at several different pages made by kindergarten teachers, I realized that they are all very similar. All of the teachers included an assignments page, a schedule of the year, an introduction of themselves, and information about classroom plans. They also each had a picture of themselves and provided contact information for parents. Link to the page: https://www.fsus.school/Page/83 Technology will be essential in my teaching career. Overtime, technology has developed and significantly improved to make tasks easier. For example, online calendars can help a teacher map out their plans and make quick changes if necessary. Another important item I would definitely use is a grading system. As mentioned in the podcast, you can enter student grades online and the system could help eliminate possible human error involving addition and percentages. Also, onl...

In my opinion, Web 2.0 technologies can be very helpful in classrooms. Although web usage definitely depends on age and maturity level, I think Web 2.0 technologies are great. One Web 2.0 technology the podcast discusses is Diigo. Even though I do not have much experience with Diigo yet, it seems interesting. I find it beneficial that students are able to post notes directly on online readings and easily communicate with their teacher if necessary. If students have the opportunity to easily ask questions, I think they are more likely to which helps both the teacher and the students further understand the topic. Another Web 2.0 technology mentioned in the podcast was blogs. Blogs allow students to publish their own writing online. Also, if the student wants the blog to only be seen by the teacher, they are able to make privacy settings which protects the individual. One Web 2.0 technology that I might not use in a classroom is Twitter. Even though I find Twitter to be very useful, I thi...
