 For Independent Learning Project 2, I once again created a Google Classroom. Since I enjoyed creating it last time, I decided to do it again. This time, I made a fourth grade math class on the topics of fractions, long division, multiplication, and Thanksgiving math activities. Under each topic there were homework assignments, announcements, notes, videos, and other fun activities for the students.

Adaptive technologies are technologies that help disabled students effectively use computing tools. By using adaptive technology, these students are able to learn independently and participate more in class. Also, dyslexic students are able to use a spell checker or speech recognition software to assist them while writing. When I was volunteering at a kindergarten summer camp, I saw three students with disabilities using adaptive technologies. Each of these students had their own iPad and a pair of headphones to aid them in classroom activities. The students were also guided by a teacher helper at most times. The idea of a flipped classroom is one that is new to me. Prior to reading this paragraph, I had no idea it existed. In a flipped classroom, teachers record themselves giving a lecture and make that video available to the students. The students then watch this lecture outside of class and come into class the next day knowing information on the topic. Instead of using class time to lecture, the teacher is then able to engage the students in active learning and fun activities. So far, my experience with Twitter has been great. The accounts that I follow provide great education updates as well as helpful classroom tips. I especially like the account @educationnation as it posts cool videos and facts on a daily basis. The benefits of Twitter include communication with classmates, access to worldwide information about education, and the ability to see retweets so you can view accounts you otherwise wouldn't have. One issue I experienced is that I was not following enough people so I didn't have a lot of updates. Therefore, I followed more users which solved my problem.
